Why I Made This
We live in a world where every app, platform, and notification is fighting for your attention. Your focus has become a commodity, and most people don’t even realise it.
The Attention Economy was created to visualise the mechanisms behind this: the endless scroll, the emotional triggers, the algorithms optimised for reaction rather than reflection.
How I Approached the Story
To illustrate this, I leaned on early black-and-white animation styles, simple shapes, exaggerated expressions. This aesthetic helps create distance, which makes a heavy topic easier to digest.
What I Built
Everything in this spot was crafted from scratch:
Concept + Script – A narrative built around psychological triggers
Illustration + Characters – Vintage-inspired but modernised for clarity
Animation – A mix of hand-drawn and digitally-assisted workflows
Sound Design – Intentionally minimal to highlight tension
Music – Retro-influenced, paced to the visual rhythm
Voiceover – Recorded in-studio for tone accuracy
Creative Outcome
The result is a stylised, editorial short that communicates a complex idea quickly, clearly, and visually - the same approach I apply when helping tech companies explain their products.
